Why you should celebrate your baby bump with a maternity session

Every Mother I have spoken with about pregnancy is unanimous about one thing- being pregnant is an incredible experience. It’s certainly not always roses but it is incredible and is like nothing else in this world.

Every Mother I have photographed has been slightly apprehensive about having their pregnancy photo’s taken before the shoot. “I’m not sure if I really need to do this’, ‘I feel awkward in front of the camera’, I feel huge and don’t feel I look my best’.

Every Mother I have photographed has said the same thing to me once they see the photos. ‘I am SO glad I did this’.

Even if you don’t feel it, I promise you, you will look amazing. Our bodies change so much during pregnancy but that is all part of the ride! Your baby bump is unique and amazing and together will find an outfit that makes you feel beautiful!

People often ask me if it’s ok to bring their family along to a maternity session. The answer is always absolutely YES! I get it, standing in front of a camera alone can be daunting for a lot of us. Having your family right there with you can really help to alleviate some of those nerves and make you feel comfortable and at ease.

We’ll capture lots of gorgeous candid moments between you and when you are feeling super relaxed and you are nailing it (I know you will) I’ll whisk you away for some solo bump shots : )

Of course if a solo maternity shoot is your thing then I don’t need to convince you otherwise!

The best time for a Maternity session is usually around 32 - 36 weeks. We want to see a big belly but we don’t want to leave it too close to your due date.
